What do you consider new beginnings?
Taking the tags off that new sweater you received as a gift? Opening a new book and reading the first few pages?
Or is it something deeper… such as a fresh start in the New Year… with a new intention?
Maybe setting your sights on a picturesque vision board containing all the desires you wish to co-create in this year?
Many of us look toward setting New Year’s Resolutions to frame our “new beginning” each year.
How’s that going for you?
If you are like most Americans, probably not so well. Recent data indicate that even though nearly 40% of us make resolutions each year, less than 9% of those who do believe they achieve success.
The numbers are kind of startling…
- 27% of resolution-makers fall off the wagon in less than a week.
- 33% are resolution breakers within two weeks.
- Nearly 50% give up by the one-month mark.
- And fewer than 45% are still hanging in there when summer dawns.
It’s no surprise, either, that the most common resolutions are related to health and weight loss. (No wonder the gyms start clearing out come February!)

Resolutions simply do not work. The good news, however, is that there is a better alternative – INTENTIONS!
