Why Intentions Beat Resolutions — Final Week of Thriving Through the Holidays

When you’ve come to know me, you know that I am all about living intentionally. Specifically, Living a Higher Vibration®. I set the same intention for my clients to #shinebright and #livejoy.

The power of intention runs deep from within and resonates outward into your world creating frequencies that draw to you the experiences you are calling.

This is the reason we are setting intentions for 2019 and NOT resolutions.

Big takeaway… if you choose to keep doing the same thing over and over, they call that insanity.

Chances are, when you make a resolution and fail to follow through, these are the probable reasons why:

1. You aren’t ready to change.
2. You have unrealistic expectations.
3. Your resolutions are abstract (Whereas habits are specific.)

Habits are behavior change.

Behavior change is a science.

Habits are rooted in our subconscious belief system fulfilling needs that unconsciously are important to our identity. Unconsciously, they provide a sense of safety and changing them is an experience that is uncomfortable and, to the extreme, may create a heightened feeling of danger.

Now back to intentions…

Intentions come from our essential nature – the pure energy source beyond our physical selves.

Many energy medicine scientists have awesome definitions to explain intention:

The Institute of Noetic Sciences’ President & CEO Dr. Marilyn Mandala Schlitz defines intention as “the projection of awareness, with purpose and efficacy, toward some object or outcome.” Based in awareness, intention carries with it dynamic creative power and inspiration. It stems from our inner yearnings, not from external input.

When you say a mantra and/or intention, it creates an energetic pattern in your consciousness. Extensive research has been developed by Dr. William A. Tiller where he measured the frequency of intention using a crystalline-based silicon technology. His research has shown evidence that directed human intention can increase or lower the pH of water by 1 point, the growing of larvae at a 30% increased rate, and the killing of bacteria at a 30% increased rate.

Author Lynne McTaggert and a team of leading scientists from several renowned universities are exploring this power through The Intention Experiment. Says McTaggert, “Intention appears to be something akin to a tuning fork, causing the tuning forks of other things in the universe to resonate at the same frequency.” She goes on to say that intention is not a unique gift but rather a teachable skill.

Dr. Wayne Dyer said “Intention is a force in the Universe, and everything and everyone is connected to this invisible force.” – Everyone has the ability to learn to live intentionally.

Focused intention can result in amazing and lasting change. Understanding the power of your mind, you know we can reach beyond our limited, conditioned thinking and access desires that resonate with who we really are and live according to our current, enlightened values and beliefs, thus freeing ourselves from those programmed during childhood.
